As a one-team city, the love we have for the Knights is the most passionate in the league, despite the lack of trophies in the cabinet.
Although the men's team has come close - most notably a semi-final in 2023 and a prelim final in 2013 - the Knights' golden period came in the early 2000s. As anyone in Newcastle will tell you, this was capped by the triumph in 2001, when the Knights beat the Parramatta Eels 30-24 in the Grand Final to become Premiers.
